Use the version of Intel® VTune™ Amplifier targeted for your specific environment and development needs.
The following product versions are available:
VTune Amplifier XE delivered as part of the Intel Parallel Studio XE and targeted for analysis of all shared memory applications
VTune Amplifier XE delivered as part of the Intel Cluster Studio XE and targeted for analysis of cluster applications
VTune Amplifier for Systems delivered as part of Intel System Studio and targeted for analysis of applications running on embedded and mobile devices

VTune Amplifier XE Installation Directory
The default installation path for the VTune Amplifier XE is [Program Files]\Intel\VTune Amplifier XE 2013.
VTune Amplifier for Systems Installation Directory
For the VTune Amplifier for Systems installed as part of Intel System Studio, the default <install_dir> is [Program Files]\Intel\System Studio <version>.< package_num>\VTune Amplifier <version> for Systems. For the standalone VTune Amplifier for Systems installed without Intel System Studio, the default <install_dir> is [Program Files]\Intel\VTune Amplifier <version> for Systems.
The default location of the VTune Amplifier remote target package on a Linux embedded system is /opt/intel/vtune_amplifier_<version>_for_systems.<package_num>. If you installed the target package to a different location, specify the correct path using the VTune Amplifier installation directory on the remote system GUI option in the Project Properties: Target tab or -target-install-dir command line option.
