When you run the analysis, the command toolbar in the Analysis Type window is updated with a set of buttons managing the data collection.
To cancel the analysis, click the 
Cancel button.
Outcome: The Intel® VTune™ Amplifier stops collecting data and displays the warning message: Collection was cancelled by the user. The data cannot be displayed.
