Changing Threshold Values

By default, the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier sets up the thresholds for CPU Usage, concurrency, and frame rate metrics based on your system data. These thresholds define Poor, OK, Ideal, and Over utilization categories for CPU usage and concurrency metric data and Good, Slow, Fast frame quality categories for frame rate.

To change the default threshold settings:

  1. Open the collected result in the Summary window.
  2. Drag a slider in the Thread Concurrency, CPU Usage, or Frame Rate Histogram to change the ranges of the required category.

The Apply button shows up at the histogram title.

  3. Click the Apply button to apply your changes.

VTune Amplifier applies these threshold changes to the data provided in all viewpoints/windows of the current result. Future analysis results are not affected.

Note

To change the frame rate threshold for all subsequent analysis results, configure the Slow and Fast frames threshold settings in the Target tab of the Project Properties dialog box.
