Target

A target is an executable file you analyze using the Intel® VTune™ Amplifier .

VTune Amplifier supports the following analysis targets:

• Application

• Process

• System

Targets can be:

• Created with C/C++/Fortran/C#/Java* code

• Developed in the Microsoft Visual Studio* 2010, 2012, 2013 development environment

• Using the Windows* API, OpenMP* API, Intel Cilk™ Plus, or Intel Threading Building Blocks programming models

• Developed to run on the Windows* operating systems listed in Release Notes, for example: Windows Store C/C++, C# and JavaScript applications

You can choose to analyze a target in the existing Visual Studio project, as well as a standalone executable, including:

• an MPI application

• an application running on the Intel Xeon Phi™ coprocessor (with VTune Amplifier XE only)

• a Windows* Store application

For Intel® System Studio, VTune Amplifier supports targets:

• Developed to run on embedded Linux* systems listed in Release Notes

• Developed to run on Android* systems listed in the Release Notes
