Intel® VTune™ Amplifier uses a number of analysis types with predefined configurations that help you find scalability issues where your software does not take full advantage of all the cores that are available.
To choose a predefined analysis type:

From the analysis tree on the left, select the required analysis type.
Outcome: The analysis type configuration pane shows up on the right.

If the analysis configuration pane and the Start button on the right are disabled, make sure you correctly specified your analysis target in the Project Properties dialog box. To verify, click the Project Properties button on the right.
