The menu, toolbar, and Project Navigator offer different ways to perform many of the same functions:

Use the menu to create projects and dynamic analysis results; open projects and dynamic/static analysis results; configure projects; compare results; import result archive files, results not associated with a project, and results from other Intel® error-detection products into the current project; set various options; show the Welcome tab and Project Navigator pane; show/hide the Intel Inspector toolbar; display a full-screen view of result tab data; and access the Intel Inspector Getting Started page and Help.

Use the toolbar to show the Project Navigator pane; create, configure, and open projects; create dynamic analysis results; open and compare results; and access resources such as Help, Getting Started documentation, and online videos and articles.

Use the Project Navigator:

• Tree to see a hierarchical view of your projects and results based on the directory where the opened project resides.

• Context menus to perform functions available from the menu and toolbar plus delete or rename projects or results, refinalize (re-resolve) results, close all opened results, and copy various directory paths to the system clipboard.

Use result tabs to manage result data.
